Laser Treatment.

Laser Therapy. Gentle and Effective.

Laser treatment provides the most effective, immediate results in skin rejuvenation. Among other things, it stimulates the body’s own production of collagen, which is responsible for skin elasticity and gradually decreases with age. Laser therapy improves elasticity and structure of the skin, making it youthfully firm.

The areas of application are manifold: whether for the treatment of pigment spots or blemishes, scars, coarse-pored skin, stretch marks or fine lines and wrinkles – laser treatment is exactly the right choice.

The great advantages of laser treatment lie not only in its quick application, but also in the comparatively short duration of treatment. It takes only between 10 and 60 minutes per session. The result is immediately visible: wrinkles are reduced immediately – the skin is visibly tightened. We are happy to offer you the option of a local anaesthetic or twilight sleep. Most patients do not need an anaesthetic for the treatment.

After the treatment you may feel a burning sensation or increased warmth for 1-2 days. In this case we can prescribe painkillers. You can then return to your daily routine. During the healing period – usually 3-5 days – you should care for your skin with an oily cream. You should also increase your sun protection during the next 6-8 weeks. To achieve an optimal result, we repeat the treatment 3-5 times at intervals of 1-2 weeks. The effect of the laser treatment very often lasts for several years.

Aesthetic Measures

Faces tell stories. They speak of so much more than the current emotion that can be read in them. Life changes and age are also reflected in skin’s texture. Age shows itself in particular through wrinkles. These “maps of life” are by no means pleasant for everyone – they quickly become too much of a good thing, making us appear tired, sad or old.

Aesthetic medicine offers various procedures to reduce or permanently remove wrinkles. A distinction is made between expression lines (e.g. laugh lines, forehead wrinkles, frown lines), which are caused by muscle tension, and so-called static wrinkles. The latter are the result of natural skin ageing (loss of elasticity).

In addition, there are mixed wrinkles, which are the result of an interaction of the previously mentioned types of wrinkles. The individual skin structure also leads to different forms of wrinkles.

Wrinkle therapy therefore always requires an individual treatment plan that is specifically tailored to your needs. We offer you a wide range of treatment options for wrinkle reduction. Benefit from our many years of experience and expertise in this field and arrange your personal consultation.

Possible Treatment Methods

The upper part of the face, which is particularly prone to expression lines (laugh lines, frown lines, worry lines), is effectively treated using Botox®. Botox® consists of the bacterial toxin botulinum toxin A, which is produced from strains of the bacterial species Clostridium botulinum. The name goes back to the discovery of the physician Justinus Kerner, who in 1820 first established the connection between the occurrence of muscle paralysis and the consumption of spoiled sausage (lt. botulus).

In wrinkle injection, the above-mentioned active ingredient is injected into the targeted muscle with extremely thin cannulas. The muscular tension is neurotoxically blocked. The desired effect sets in 3-5 days after application and lasts for 3-6 months: Wrinkles are visibly smoothed. The facial expression appears much more relaxed – the sense of touch is not influenced or restricted by the treatment. The paralysis of the muscle prevents further wrinkle formation. As a result, fewer treatments are needed to achieve the same effect again. The toxin itself is gradually broken down by the body.

In general, treatment with Botox® is very well tolerated. However, redness and swelling may occur for a short time, especially at the injection sites, but this can be counteracted with targeted cooling.

Additional information on wrinkle injections with Botox® and a personal consultation are available at our surgery.

Superficial and smaller wrinkles can be treated or “filled up” using the filler method. Fillers are mainly used for static wrinkles. Typical areas of application include nasolabial folds and wrinkles at the corners of the mouth (marionette lines, as well as in cases where lip volume is lacking.

An ideal filler, and preferred filler in our practice, is hyaluronic acid. This sugar molecule, which occurs naturally in human tissue, is injected into the spaces between the tissue fibres. There is an immediate effect that can last up to a year: The skin becomes smooth, appears fresher and more vibrant. The natural facial harmony is restored.

The effect of hyaluronic acid is similar to that of Botox®: the smoothing effect is temporary. Experience shows that treatment with hyaluronic fillers must be repeated after 6-12 months in order to maintain the effect. It is this good resorbability and tolerability of hyaluronic acid that prevents it from causing undesired irregularities in the face over time.

The treatment effects can be maximised even further by combining wrinkle injections with the filler method. The interaction of the two procedures acts like a soft focus and provides a particularly natural result.

Further information about the filler method, the use of hyaluronic acid, and the combined wrinkle treatment with Botox® is available at our surgery. We will be happy to advise you.

If the skin does not respond or no longer responds adequately to filler methods in the course of wrinkle therapy, dermabrasion can help to achieve visibly smoother and finer skin. Also known as “skin abrasion”, dermabrasion makes use of body’s own healing properties. It achieves impressive and lasting results especially in the case of pronounced wrinkles, scars and age spots.

Depending on the extent, the procedure is performed under general or local anaesthesia. The uppermost skin layer of the corresponding regions – typically the areas around the mouth – is controlled with diamond abrasives, mechanically removed and constantly cooled (e.g. with moist compresses). Greasy gauze and ointments prevent the wound areas from drying out after the abrasion.

After dermabrasion, the skin is covered with protective scabs. You should not remove this scab under any circumstances – for example, to accelerate the healing process. The scab will peel off by itself after about a week, revealing the newly formed skin underneath.

At first, the treated areas of skin are rosy, but gradually gain the same colour as the surrounding skin. Your skin’s appearance is illuminated with a new and youthful radiance.

After the treatment, we recommend the use of sunscreen creams with a high sun protection factor for a few months to prevent pigmentation disorders.

An autologous fat implantation, known as liposculpting, is another excellent alternative to cosmetic procedures for skin rejuvenation.

The treatment usually takes 1-2 hours and can be performed under local anaesthesia, twilight sleep or general anaesthesia. During the procedure, we selectively extract autologous fat – typically from the abdomen, buttocks or legs. Prepared accordingly, we then inject it into the areas of skin to be tightened.

By using the body’s own substances, incompatibilities are highly unlikely. The short duration of treatment and a quick return to everyday life (typically 1-3 days recovery) make autologous fat implantation a popular, gentle procedure that creates permanent and natural changes and makes your skin glow again. The treatment with autologous fat lasts for about 2 years. Afterwards, a new autologous fat implantation is necessary to maintain the effect.
